Face-to-face fundraiser writes blog for UK Fundraising

UK Fundraising has launched its latest blog on the issue of face-to-face fundraising, written by a face-to-face fundraiser keen to share his thoughts on the realities of this method of fundraising.

Lewis Honney’s blog ‘Streetlife‘ is designed to look at street fundraising from the perspective of someone who actually does it.

Lewis has been a professional fundraiser for several years and is now employed by DialogueDirect Fundraising UK as regional campaign manager. His role includes training and supporting fundraisers as well as taking to the streets regularly himself to recruit new donors for charity.

Lewis explained why he has taken to blogging. “I know how little people understand about what my colleagues and I do and I get very frustrated with the myths perpetuated about face-to-face fundraising.

“The media regularly quotes the views of senior managers both for and against face-to-face fundraising and I’ve lost count of the columnists who choose to make their feelings known about it, but I’ve yet to read or hear about the views of the people with the clipboards.

“This is my attempt to rebalance things a bit. I hope that people will find it entertaining and informative, I know that it will be honest.”

‘Streetlife’, UK Fundraising’s sixth blog, welcomes comments and feedback.
