HAVE BUS, WILL TRAVEL!

Patterson Ford has helped a female football team to participate in the biggest games of their lives.
The Newcastle-based motor retailer came to the rescue of Cramlington Juniors Football Club Girls Under-12s to help them participate in a national football tournament. The girls managed to beat many strong teams on their way to the final of the Under-12s cup, where they lost on penalties.
The girls won this season’s Under-12s Premiership League at a canter after winning all of their games in the Northumberland Girls League. The title-clinching victories came against some strong competition that had previously not been beaten in two seasons.
Some of the girls were having difficulty in finding transport to Blackpool but thanks to Patterson Ford they were able to travel in a luxury Mini Bus. Without this transport the club would have been unable to field a team.
Patterson Ford has a history of supporting grass-roots sport in the region. The company is currently sponsoring rally-driver, Ken Forster, in his bid to repeat his 2005 Championship class win in this year’s British Historic Rally Championship (BHRC).
Steve Pate, an employee at Patterson ford and manager of Cramlington Juniors Under-12s Lamborghini’s, said: I’m grateful for Patterson Ford’s assistance because otherwise we would have had to pull out of the Blackpool tournament. That would have been a great shame as the girls deserved to play against some of the best girls teams in England after the season they’ve had.â€
Cliff Thornton, director of Patterson Ford, added: Grass-roots sport sometimes suffers through lack of investment and we didn’t want the girls to lose out, especially as they had paid a tournament entrance deposit. Girls’ football does not receive enough media exposure and it’s a shame that the achievements of teams like Cramlington Juniors girls are sometimes overlooked.â€
