Quarriers, the lScottish social care charity, has succeeded in doubling response rates to cold donor recruitment mailings.

Incumbent agency Burnett Works, who devised and are now helping to implement a three-year fundraising strategy for individual giving, have reported a 124% improvement in response rates to Quarriers’ banker mailing, as well as the highest-ever average gift rates for regular giving.

The banker pack focuses on Quarriers’ respite care service and describes the situation of a family with a severely disabled child. The pack adopts a Maltese cross format which unfolds step-by-step to take the reader through a typical day in the life of the family and to illustrate the impact Quarriers’ respite care can make.

The mailing activity is part of a wider programme which also includes face-to-face, inserts and door drop campaigns. All aspects of the offer are being step tested, including price points, formats, materials, donation options and mailing lists.
