Seminar planned to promote Irish philanthropy

The Ireland Funds is organising another major seminar to promote charitable giving in Ireland. ‘Promoting Philanthropy in Ireland’ will be held at O’Reilly Hall, UCD, on 20th April and follows on from other events to promote philanthropy over the last few years.

The seminar will feature a contribution from Kingsley Aikins, Worldwide Ireland Funds CEO, and Colin McCrea, Senior Vice President of Atlantic Philanthropies who will talk on ‘What funders look for.’

A lunchtime address will be given by Paul Schervish, Professor of Sociology and Director Center on Wealth and Philanthropy, Boston College on the topic, The New Physics of Philanthropy: Charitable Giving as a Biographical Event.

Four breakout sessions will be held in the afternoon on charity legislation, major gifts, funding and branding.
