Institute of Fundraising to repeat major donor conference
The Institute of Fundraising is again holding a Major Donor Fundraising conference following the success of its first outing last year. This year’s conference will be held on 30 March 2006 at The Royal Over-Seas League, London.
The one-day conference will cover the various elements of the big gift process, from the initial prospect research right through to making ‘the ask’ and retaining your donor, through to a successful donor care and development system.
As well as featuring case studies, the event will also address the legal and financial implications as well as the impact of the Institute’s new Major Donor Fundraising Code, currently undergoing consultation.

Marion Allford of Marion Allford Associates, will chair the event. She said: “Major donor fundraising should be a crucial element of every fundraiser’s toolkit. It is not rocket science, but it is potentially the most cost-effective form of fundraising.”
Bruce Leeke, Head of Events at the Institute of Fundraising, added: “No longer restricted to the largest charities and arts organisations, Major Donor Fundraising is a discipline that is becoming increasingly widespread throughout the sector.”
The event includes presentations from Dame Steve Shirley of The Shirley Foundation, ActionAid, The Brooke, Factary, The Healing Foundation, Iain More Associates, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Marion Allford Associates, Terrence Higgins Trust and THINK Consulting Solutions.
The event costs £149 for Institute members, £199 for charities, and £249 for commercial organisations.
