The Rangers Charity Foundation is seeking applications for next season’s nominated charities.

The Rangers Charity Foundation selects three key charities each year to support both financially and with in-kind assistance, through a close partnership and works with each organisation to help achieve their key aims and objectives.

Registered charitable organisations that are interested in applying for Nominated Charity status for the 2006/2007 season should contact the Foundation for further information and an application form.

During its first three years the Foundation has given over £180,000 in support of nine charity projects. It has also provided over £480,000 of in kind support to hundreds of groups and individuals.

This season the Foundation is working with the British Heart Foundation, Guide Dogs and the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).

Kenneth Corsar, Director for Scotland, NDCS commented on the wider benefits of being chosen by the Foundation. “We were honoured to be chosen by the Rangers Charity Foundation as one of their nominated charities for the 2005/06 football season. As well as benefiting from the Foundation’s aim to fund a much-needed Family Resource Support Room at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow we have benefited from the wider PR opportunities in our fundraising and campaigning work.

“The association with Rangers has proved a powerful motivating force for young deaf people in Scotland and beyond in light of the international reputation of the football club”.

Contact Charity Co-ordinator, Connal Cochrane, on 0141 580 8775. The Foundation will accept applications from now until Friday 7 April 2006.
