New online course on working in the voluntary sector

A new online training course run by the NCVO’s Working For A Charity project is designed to offer career changers, people returning to work, and new graduates the chance to learn about all aspects of working in the voluntary sector, including fundraising. Forty participants are being sought for a free pilot version.

The pilot of the course, ‘Effective Voluntary Sector Management’, will run from March until July 2006, prior to the launch of an accredited course at the end of 2006. The pilot course is free and will require around four hours study a week for the five-month period.

The course is being conducted through Roehampton University’s Virtual Learning Environment, WebCT Vista.

Following the successful completion of the pilot, an accredited version will be launched at the end of 2006. Fees for the course, and qualification level, are yet to be confirmed.
