New Statesman launches 2006 awards for social businesses

The New Statesman has launched its Edge Upstarts Awards to highlight the value of social enterprises and their contribution to the nation.

This year’s awards recognise employers who pass on practical skills and those who benefit from learning-by-doing, a chief concern for many social enterprises.

AWARD CATEGORIES
To recognise excellence in all aspects of social enterprise, including
providing a rich learning environment for the young and disadvantaged, this
year’s award categories are:
Young Social Entrepreneur
Social Entrepreneur
Social Enterprise
Social Enterprise Mentor of the Year
Social Enterprise Trainee of the Year
Social Enterprise Team of the Year
