RSPB launch alternative Christmas catalogue

Howard Lake | 20 November 2005 | News

Capitalising on the growing interest in the giving of ‘virtual gifts’ from charities as alternative Christmas presents, the RSPB has recently launched its own virtual gift catalogue aimed at wildlife and nature lovers.

Developed by Whitewater, the ‘Good Nature Gifts’ catalogue offers a wide range of gifts; from a plate of mealworms for the London House Sparrow Project (£6), to ten metres of hedgerow (£22), a length of boardwalk at an RSPB nature reserve (£120), or a complete vulture breeding aviary (£1,600).

Orders can be placed by phone or online (www.goodnaturegifts.com) with the purchaser receiving a card for each gift purchased explaining how each donation will be used to support the RSPB’s conservation work. The card leaves space for a personal message to be written and can then be given in lieu of a traditional Christmas gift.
