A group of Irish charities have come together to promote legacy giving in Ireland. The group, which includes many of the top charities, will start their activities by commissioning detailed research on legacies.

Charities taking part in the group include Oxfam, Sightsavers, Unicef, Opera Ireland and Merchant’s Quay. Membership is open for other charities and the membership fee is based on turnover.

As well as undertaking research that will inform future legacy campaigns, the group will consider a publicity programme to encourage people to support charities in their wills.
