Young People's Fund to open in N Ireland
In Northern Ireland the Big Lottery Fund are giving out £9.8 million through the Young People’s Fund over the next three to five years for young people up to 25 years old. This scheme is opening on the 28 September 2005.
The Young People’s Fund aims to promote youth inclusion and target resources at those young people at greatest risk of exclusion and offending.
The Big Lottery Fund want young people to come up with ideas for projects and to be involved in making them happen.
These projects will help young people to:

–increase their achievement and learning.
The Young People’s Fund programme is divided into two strands.
Open Grants programme – £ 5.8 milllion
BLF will run an open competitive grants programme to deliver the health, achievement and learning aspects of the initiative. This scheme will open on the 28 September 2005. More information will be available from the BLF website on this date.
Award Partner programme – £ 4million
BLF hope to appoint an award partner to run a small grants programme for individuals and groups of young people and to develop strategic programmes that will support young people as decision makers. More information on the award partner programme will be available later in the year.
