The Washington-based ePhilanthropy Foundation is seeking nominations from charities around the world for its new International ePhilanthropy Awards.

The International ePhilanthropy Awards are designed to recognise nonprofit excellence in fundraising campaigns; event registration or membership campaigns; community building, volunteerism, or advocacy campaigns; and e-philanthropy research projects.

Charities and nonprofit groups can nominate their own sites. The deadline for nominations is 1 August 2005.

Winners will receive a glass sculpture and a $500 donation to their favourite charity.

Judges include the founder of the prestigious Webby Awards and America Online’s vice president for community investment.

The winners will be announced in New York on 22 September 2005.

The organisers already have 40 “very solid nominations for the awards” but they are particularly keen to receive entries in the “Best Special Event Registration and/or Membership Campaign” and “Best ePhilanthropy Research Project” categories.
