Third Sector magazine’s new Excellence Awards include a new media category.

The Third Sector Excellence Awards are designed to celebrate success and
achievement in charities and voluntary organisations. They “will celebrate what’s happening in charities at other levels and in
all departments, from fundraising or campaigns, to finance or human resources”.

The 14 categories include on for new media campaign, a category that has not appeared in many of the charity sector’s other awards ceremonies.

Third Sector’s award aims to recognise “the digital/internet campaign that most effectively used new media techniques to reach the targeted audience, achieving fundraising/awareness raising success.”

Entries for this award require considerable detail. Areas to be addressed include:

Background (relevant info about reason for campaign, previous campaigns leading up to this one etc)
Aims/targets and why these were chosen
How the campaign was innovative
How the campaign used the potential of new media to achieve something that could not be achieved with other media
ROI (including estimated lifetime value for committed donors and how this was calculated)
Who was targeted and how the audience was selected
How the campaign was integrated with other media

The closing date for entries is 17 June 2005.
