More young people can apply for Youth Led grants

Howard Lake | 14 June 2005 | News

Youth Led grants, part of the Y SPEAK Consultation Fund, are currently undersubscribed, so the age range of applicants has been extended to 16-25.
The Y SPEAK Consultation Fund is a government funded scheme which supports the involvement of young people in decision-making at national, regional and local levels and helps to ensure that they have a say in the policies and services that affect them.
Changemakers took over the delivery of Y SPEAK in September 2004 from the DfES and added the Youth Led strand of grants to the existing grants to organisations. Youth Led grants are awarded directly to young people to design, set up and manage their own consultation projects.
The deadlines for applications are 30 June and 29 September 2005.
