UK lottery service provider, Sterling Management Centre in Cumbria, has been granted External Lottery Manager status by the Gaming Board for Great Britain.

External Lottery Manager (ELM) registration enables the company to expand its range of services and take a more central role in clients’ lottery related activities.

Managing Director, Richard Dixon said: “It has taken over a year of intense paperwork, interviews and inspections to get here, but we are now looking forward to the future, and working towards expanding the services we are able to offer to clients.”

Lotteries are popular forms of fundraising for many UK charities, both regional and national. For example, over a third of hospices operate a membership lottery scheme.

One main drawback, however, is the heavy administrative burden; hence the popularity of outsourcing this activity to an external bureau. Sterling Management Centre has provided such a lottery administration service for over 23 years.
