Northern Rock gives record amount to its charitable foundation
UK mortgage bank Northern Rock has given a record £21.6 million ($41.4m) to its charitable foundation in 2004.
The bank’s new Community Report, its fourth, reports the figure, indicating that it is the largest handed over by the bank to date. The report summarises the company’s performance on corporate social responsibility issues during 2004.
The bank donates 5% of its annual pre-tax profit to the Northern Rock Foundation for community and charitable causes in north-eastern England.
