Two consultation papers from the Law Reform Commission recommend legislative reform of the charity sector in the Republic of Ireland.

The papers cover trust law and charitable trust law, and have been prepared at the request of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.

According to the Irish Examiner, “there are approximately 6,400 organisations with tax exemption status in Ireland, including 1,328 trusts.”
