Librarian leaves half her £2 million estate to charities

A retired librarian in Aberdeen has left nearly half her £2,109,769 estate in her will to charities.

Patricia Mugliston surprised friends and family, according to the Daily Record, by the value of her estate.

She left over £200,000 each to Help the Aged, The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, The Cats Protection League and Voluntary Service Aberdeen. She gave a property to the Scottish Episcopal Church, together with £2,000 each to the three churches, the Deeside Choristers, the Friends of Aberdeen University Library and the St Andrews University Library.
