Collector raises just £15 in one day

Howard Lake | 29 September 2004 | News

A nurse who spent all day collecting on the street for a homeless organisation raised just £15.38.

It’s not much comfort, but sometimes fundraising just doesn’t work. Kathy Cubitt raised £15.38 with her collecting tin in Ipswich; £5 of the total was donated by a refugee whom the group had earlier helped to find food and shelter.

While the fundraising didn’t work, the organisation did get something out of it. The local Evening News picked up the story and featured the organisation in a news item.
