Jarrod Bachelor, this year’s Mr Gay UK and winner of Channel 4’s sporting reality TV series ‘The Games’, has presented the £15,000 from his win to the Albert Kennedy Trust.

The Albert Kennedy Trust is the UK’s only charity providing foster care and
supported lodgings services to lesbian, gay and bisexual youths.

Jarrod Bachelor, a patron of the trust, said: “I remember being bullied at school
because I was gay and I wanted this money to go to AKT as they support young gay people at a time in their lives when they need it most”.

In April 2004 Mr Bachelor took part in Channel 4’s ‘The Games’, a reality TV series in which celebrities competed in 14 sporting disciplines.

The money will be used to kick start funding for a carer/mentor programme.
