The Big Food Group, which includes Iceland stores, Booker branches, and Woodward depots has donated over £540,000 to Breast Cancer Campaign, its charity of the year for 2003-04.

The original target of the campaign was £350,000. Breast Cancer Campaign Chief Executive Pamela Goldberg said: “This is the largest donation we have ever received from a charity of the year partnership.”

Activities through the year included a team of 40 colleagues undertaking an international trekking challenge in South Africa, 10 colleagues running in the Flora London Marathon, support for the charity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October through sales of pink ribbons and hundreds of fun days, raffles and sponsored events.
