Aquaplastics.org click-to-give site reaches target early

The click-to-give online fundraising site aquaplastics.org has reached its target of 1.5 million clicks seven weeks ahead of schedule, generated a donation of ‚€150,000 for WaterAid for the second year running.

As in 2003, the website was launched on 22 March by the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Europe (APME), in conjunction with WaterAid, to coincide with the United Nations’ World Water Day. For every click received, APME donated 10 cents to WaterAid.

Money from the site will be put towards several projects in Africa, including the provision of clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in Madagascar and Malawi.

 

 

WaterAid’s Corporate Fundraising Manager, Emily Boyd-Carpenter, said: “It’s

 

really heartening to see that for the second year in a row, this campaign has had such a huge response from all over the world.”
