Institute of Fundraising seeks feedback on two new draft Codes

Howard Lake | 31 March 2004 | News

The Institute of Fundraising has launched consultations on drafts of two Codes of Fundraising Practice covering payroll giving and working with fundraising consultants and agencies.

The two separate Codes are ‘Committed Giving in the Workplace’, which sets out best practice for VCOs, agencies, employers and employees who are engaged in setting up payroll giving and other schemes. The second Code is ‘Best Practice for Fundraising Contracts and Relationships between VCOs, PFOs, Consultants and Agencies’ and gives ./guidance on the common problems that can befall such contracts. It also includes a new Model Fundraising Agreement and it is the intention that this will replace the Institute’s current Standard Forms of Agreement.

If these areas impact your fundraising then you should have your say. Read the documents on the Institute’s Web site and respond to the e-mail address listed there by 21 May 2004.

The Institute’s Codes of Fundraising Practice represent the standards set for fundraisers in the UK. Each Code covers a separate fundraising technique and provides not only information on relevant areas of the law but also the best practice that the fundraising sector has set itself to ensure the highest standards.
