The Department for Education and Skills has announced that the National Family and Parenting Institute (NFPI), together with PricewaterhouseCoopers, will handle the administration of the new Parenting Fund.

The Parenting Fund, which will award grants to organisations working to support parents for the next two years, will be officially launched later this Spring. Negotiations are continuing on the detailed administration of the Fund. It is expected that the closing date for grant applications will be in July 2004.

Mary MacLeod, NFPI Chief Executive, said: “This is important new funding to improve the lives of parents and families, and we look forward to working with other groups in the sector to meet the challenges of using the fund to increase family and parenting support.”
