Sending fundraising books to a good home

Howard Lake | 10 February 2004 | News

Have you got any spare or unused fundraising books or directories? Try giving them a good home at another charity using the UK Fundraising Forum.

UK Fundraising is currently offering a copy of the latest (2004) codes of fundraising practice from the Institute of Fundraising for just the price of postage and packing. We mentioned this today with a message on the UK Fundraising Forum.

You are probably sitting on spare or unused fundraising books at this moment. If you are, why not spread a little happiness and see if anyone else wants them? Try posting details on the Forum.

As with our copy of the fundraising codes, we’re not planning on making any money out of this. We’re not Amazon.co.uk or eBay after all… But this is just another way you can use our discussion forums.

All we suggest is that you offer items that are fairly current and that you are honest about their state of repair. Once a book (or perhaps a CD-ROM) has been promised to an enquirer, please remember to return to your message and post an update that the book is no longer available.

The Forum (in the form of its forerunner the FundUK e-mail list) has been used in this way many times before. Fundraising researchers in particular seemed to like swapping or passing on unwanted tomes.
