Donate your leap year day to charity, urges Giving Campaign

The Giving Campaign has launched The Big Leap initiative to persuade companies to encourage their employees to devote some or all of this leap year’s extra day to charity.

This year is a Leap Year, and The Giving Campaign is focusing on the potential for charities of how to spend that extra day of 29 February.

It has launched The Big Leap campaign, asking people to pledge just two hours of time or money each month to charity. Employees who choose to give money are encouraged to do so through their payroll, giving the equivalent of two hours pay. Twelve months later, those employees who have taken part in The Big Leap will have given a total of 24 hours – one full day to charity.
