Comic Relief selects mobile technology provider

Comic Relief has appointed Flytxt to handle its mobile technology services.

Flytxt beat three other agencies in pitching for the account to run SMS and MMS campaigns for Sports Relief on 10 July 2004 and Red Nose Day in March 2005.

Flytxt first worked with Comic Relief in 2002, when it ran the first premium rate SMS campaign using one common short code across all four major UK networks for Sport Relief 2002.

To date, Comic Relief has raised over £520,000 through running premium rate SMS initiatives during its Red Nose Day and Sport Relief campaigns. Not surprisingly Martin Gill, New Media Fundraising Manager, Comic Relief has commented: “We fully intend to cultivate our use of wireless activity to maximise the fundraising and marketing potential of Sport Relief 2004 and Red Nose Day 2005.”
