Royal Horticultural Society holds its first Winter raffle

Howard Lake | 22 December 2003 | News

Gardening charity The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has raised £85,000 through its first ever Winter Raffle.

One hundred thousand RHS members were asked to buy tickets, and 75,000 were sold, generating £20,000 more income than the £65,000 target.

The pilot raffle was restricted to a random selection of the RHS’s 330,000
members to ascertain response rates. Following its success, the raffle will
be repeated in 2004 and promoted to all RHS members when the RHS celebrates its
Bicentenary.
