RNLI promotes events Web site with link-to-us e-mail campaign

The RNLI events team is asking Web site owners to publicise the charity’s fundraising events to a wider audience by
placing links on their site to the charity’s loadsmorefun.co.uk site.

The promotion is being carried out by digital marketing agency M-Corp which built the loadsmorefun.co.uk site as well as two other RNLI sites, beachrescue.org.uk and beachsafety.org.uk.

The e-mail request is short and clear, giving a short cut and paste snippet of HTML for Web site owners to add to their site:

Although the campaign is targeted, the message that UK Fundraising received was not personalised. While it did specifically ask for a link to be made on www.fundraising.co.uk, the message was addressed “To Whom It May Concern.”

Furthermore there was no option to place graphics or perhaps banner ads on one’s site, should one be keen to show further support.

The loadsmorefun.co.uk microsite itself though is particularly good, offering very clear and attractive details about getting involved, whether as a company or an individual. The opening splash page is a good visual summary of fundraising challenge events, but otherwise redundant. It can be skipped and throughout there are navigation links to the main content of the site.
