Noddy fundraiser in trouble over intellectual property

A volunteer fundraiser who raises funds dressed as children’s character Noddy has been told to stop because he is breaching intellectual property law.
Steven Cash from Lincoln has been told to stop his fundraising by Chorion, the company that owns the rights to Enid Blyton’s 700 books.
Cash is not surprisingly upset at being asked to stop his Noddy fundraising. “I’m just gutted,” he said. “They have told me I’m defaming Noddy, but children love the car and the outfit.” He has raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the past three years dressed as Noddy.

Noddy’s character is used with permission to raise funds for Whizz-kidz charity for children.
