Macmillan’s fundraising event breaks world record

Macmillan Cancer Relief’s major fundraising event, the “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”, is officially a World Record breaker.

Macmillan’s flagship fundraising event had held the Guinness World Record since 1996 for the ‘largest simultaneous party’. This record was smashed during 2002’s event when 545,647 people attended over 26,000 coffee mornings all over the country.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is in its 13th year and so far has raised more than £20 million.

2004’s event is on Friday 26th September. Macmillan hope to break their own world record and raise £3.5 million in just one morning.
