Children’s charity NCH has been chosen as electrical retailer Comet’s official corporate charity for 2003/2004.

Starting in May 2003 the company has set itself a fundraising target of £150,000 for the year’s activities.

Comet will be organising a variety of events to raise money for the charity

including a forthcoming 2,700m climb through the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Ten Comet colleagues will also be taking part in the Great Northern Run. Employees in all 256 of Comet’s nationwide stores will be organising events throughout the year to help raise money for local NCH projects in their store areas.

Veronica McCarthy, Social Responsibilities Manager, from Comet said: “Comet worked with NCH last year on an Internet Safety project and during this time realised that the work this charity does really makes a difference to young

people and families in this country so we are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
