Northern Ireland fundraising convention speakers announced

The Institute of Fundraising Northern Ireland has announced the speakers for this year’s Annual Convention.

Bernard Ross, Director of the Management Centre, will be speaking at the Convention, the fifth annual event, for the first time. Ross works worldwide helping charities and NGOs achieve challenging results in management, communications and fundraising.

Paul Kane, who is chairing this year’s convention said: “Bernard is a dynamic speaker with a lot of fundraising and motivating knowledge to share. He speaks regularly at fundraising conventions throughout the world and we are extremely lucky to have him. His presence this year will be a great boost to fundraisers and managers in the voluntary sector.”

Luke Fitzherbert, founding editor to The Guide to Major Trusts, will also be speaking. Originally from Northern Ireland, Fitzherbert works at the Directory of Social Change in London and has expert knowledge of thousands of grant-makers across Europe.

William J Conner, previously Dean for Advancement at London Business School and Director of Development for the San Francisco Opera, will also be speaking. Conner is now managing director of Brakeley Ltd.

The Convention will be held on Wednesday 25th June 2003 at the Beechlawn House Hotel, Dunmurry. To ensure that community groups and small fundraising organisations can participate, a special Community Group Rate is available.
