Marks and Spencer staff support ChildLine in London Marathon

Howard Lake | 21 March 2003 | News

Marks and Spencer is fielding a staff team of around 100 runners to raise funds for ChildLine in next month’s 2003 Flora London Marathon. Each runner is aiming to raise at least £1,000 for the charity, and Marks and Spencer has pledged to match the money raised pound for pound.

The company is also supporting all ChildLine runners on the day of the race with M&S ‘View From’ branded running vests, support along the route, and post-race refreshments.

The company’s support is the latest stage in the company’s involvement with the charity, which began in the early days of the charity. So far M&S has raised over £300,000 in direct donations and over £4 million through Children’s Promise, the Millennium Final Hour Appeal made possible by the company. M&S has made a donation to ChildLine every year from 1987 to 2003.
