London Triathlon partners with Justgiving

Online donations service Justgiving is to be The London Triathlon’s official fundraising partner.

Competitors in the race on 3 August 2003 will be able to collect charity sponsor money securely online and encourage donors to give tax-efficiently under Gift Aid.

Justgiving’s online fundraising pages accept credit and debit card pledges and donations, and send money directly to each charity’s bank account. Participants can also keep an eye on their sponsorship total, and update their page with news of their training, fitness, times and targets.

The London Triathlon already brings in hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity every year through its participants. Nick Rusling, The London Triathlon’s Marketing and PR manager said: “through online sponsorship, charities will save on admin costs, receive their money faster and recover Gift Aid on every pound, while seeing exactly how much their competitors have raised. With Justgiving’s help The London Triathlon is hoping to help raise over £1 million in 2003.”

Justgiving has already secured official fundraising partnerships with The Flora London Marathon, The Edinburgh Marathon and the British 10K London.

The sponsorship pages are not yet accessible but will appear on the London Triathlon site at:
