NCVO members happy with its services to them
Almost 9 out of 10 members of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) think that NCVO is effective in
representing the voluntary sector.
The findings come from a survey by independent consultants Compass Partnership. Even non-members think NCVO does a good job: most charities and voluntary organisations that have not yet joined the umbrella body agreed, with 71% of non-members voicing their satisfaction. The results are based on the opinions of over 1,200 voluntary organisations.

Areas which most respondents cited as being examples of effective representation by NCVO were the reform of charity law, the sector’s involvement in the delivery of public services, tax changes to encourage giving and criminal record checks. Both members and non-members commonly associate NCVO with being national in its thinking, professionally run and
providing a strong and effective voice for the sector.
