A new book explains how to use Flash on Web sites and still keep them usable.

[Airgid - book cover]Macromedia’s graphic design package Flash is often regarded as a hindrance to making Web sites accessible. In nearly eight years of publishing online UK Fundraising has used a Flash graphic only half a dozen times or so, and we have always advised charities to steer clear of it in core online fundraising activities. However, a new book from Kevin Airgid and Stephanie Reindel argues that it is possible to use Flash and retain an usable Web site. “Flash 99% Good” presents practical examples of such Web sites, and offers tips on how to go about applying the principles to your Web site.

At £32.99 the book is not cheap, but you could draw it to the attention of your Web designer(s).
