Fundraising Manager of the Year announced

Howard Lake | 5 September 2002 | News

The winner of award for Fundraising Manager of the Year was announced last night at the UK Charity Awards 2002.

Congratulations to the winner, Helen Harper of The Prince’s Trust. She led a team of three people, which meant she had to manage public funding whilst being a fundraiser and account manager. Despite this the team raised £8.6 million, using only written communication and face to face meetings. The judges commented that she was “an original thinker who has produced amazingly innovative schemes despite having virtually no prior experience in the sector.”

Peter Emmett of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, was highly commended, and Christine Jenkins of Sharing the Caring also made the final shortlist.
