National Occupational Standards for fundraisers getting closer

A series of UK-wide focus groups has been announced to secure feedback on draft National Occupational Standards for fundraisers.

The development of National Occupational Standards for fundraisers is moving forward. The project has now successfully completed the mapping of the occupational sector and built a functional framework from which standards

and qualifications will be drawn and developed.

The project is a collaboration between The Voluntary Sector National Training Organisation and the Institute of Fundraising.

The findings from the phase one research – identifying the roles in fundraising, skill requirements, training and qualifications – are available, together with the occupational and functional map, are now available in a report on the project’s Web site.

The project’s Working Group have already begun work on devising the draft standards and are seeking input from fundraisers. A series of UK-wide focus groups has been set up during November and December to consult on them. People with knowledge or experience in fundraising are invited to attend.
