Nielsen Norman Group report on children's and older people's use of the Web

The Nielsen Norman Group have reported their findings on how children and older people use the Web.

Children like the use of Flash on the Web but do not like scrolling down a page. They do read online instructions and will click on adverts. Boys tend to surf alone, while girls are more likely to surf with their mother.

These and other revelations appear in the latest reports from Web usability specialists The Nielsen Norman Group.

The Group has also reported on how older people use the Web. Perhaps not surprisingly they are not as good as young people at completing tasks on the Web.

The full reports cost $125 but you can view summaries of them at the Nielsen Norman Group’s Web site.
