Buckingham Palace has announced that the Queen has selected the five charities which will be the focus of her Golden Jubilee celebrations in June 2002.

Buckingham Palace has announced that the Queen has selected the five charities which will be the focus of her Golden Jubilee celebrations in June 2002. These are Barnardo’s; CRUSE Bereavement Services; I CAN; the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution; and the Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association.

The charities are expected to benefit considerably from the additional publicity and promotion of charitable giving and volunteering that is planned as part of the Golden Jubilee.

The Duke of Edinburgh has also nominated a charity for the Golden Jubilee. He has chosen The British Commonwealth Ex-Services League Jubilee Appeal for

Commonwealth Veterans.
