Conservative Party manifesto commits to voluntary sector

The Conservative Party manifesto, launched today, contained a number of important commitments for the voluntary sector.

These include:

• a voice at the heart of government
• reform of charity taxation
• greater use of NGOs in development policy
• investment in hospices
• new opportunities for voluntary sector-run schools
• support for parents and carers
• charitable status for grassroots sports.
