UNICEF will receive $1 million from a new FTSE ethical investment index.

The Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) has announced that it will launch an investment index listing global ethical companies. It will donate all its licence fees, estimated to top $1 million, to Unicef.

The index, to be called the FTSE 4Good UK is one of a set of indices developed in partnership with the Ethical Investment Research Service. It will go live in June 2001.
