Professionals who volunteer

Howard Lake | 21 February 2001 | News

The professionals who are using their skills to run eVolunteer (featured in October 2000 by UK Fundraising) are today featured in The Guardian’s Society supplement. Whether it is professional or other skills offered, Justin Davis Smith, director of the Institute for Volunteer Research, estimates that the total economic value of volunteer activity in the UK is £45bn a year. This makes it one of the top five contributors to GDP.

Andy Farquarson looks at the professionals who volunteer their valuable services and skills for charity in Free style at SocietyGuardian.
