Charity Christmas cards online still "a test"

Although some UK charities have been selling their Christmas cards online for at least four years, some still see this year as a “test year,” according to SocietyGuardian.

Hilary Blume, director of Charities Advisory Trust, which runs 40 Card Aid retail outlets, is unimpressed by the potential. “Online buying is just mail order by a different name, and mail order has only captured 10% of the Christmas card business,” she said. Neither Card Aid nor Cards for Good Causes allow visitors to buy their cards for charity online. Ironically, as UK Fundraising reported, Cards for Good Causes won an e-commerce award for their online Christmas card shop last year.
