The Distance Selling Directive comes into force tomorrow, giving consumers greater rights to cancel orders and make complaints. It covers shopping by mail order, telephone, fax and Internet.

The Distance Selling Directive comes into force tomorrow, giving consumers greater rights to cancel orders and make complaints. It covers shopping by mail order, telephone, fax and Internet. Retailers, which will include charity trading companies, will need to publish comprehensive information about goods at the point of order. Consumers also get the right to cancel an order within seven days after receipt of the goods purchased.
