New forum for charity IT directors

A new e-mail discussion list for charity IT directors has been launched.

The Charities Consortium I.T. Directors Forum has been established to exchange information and experience on the best industry practice and to encourage best practice across the sector. The forum is composed of the Heads of Information Systems/Information Technology from the major UK charities.

Members can now exchange news and advice via an e-mail and Web-based discussion forum, hosted at Yahoo! Groups.

The forum’s aims include keeping in touch with the latest technology and sharing experiences of it, evaluating suppliers and consultants and sharing experiences, exchanging information about purchasing issues and optimising buying potential across the charity sector.

In addition the forum aims to seek commercial benefit on behalf of all its members. However, neither members of the committee nor any member is permitted to use the name or membership of The Charities Consortium I.T. Directors Forum to receive personal gratuities or any other personal benefit from any source.
