Australian inquiry into definition of charity

Howard Lake | 18 September 2000 | News

The Australian Prime Minister Mr Howard has announced an inquiry into the definition of “charity” following various legal disputes an legislative problems. This reflects similar moves and concerns in other countries, such as Scotland which has launched a Scottish Charity Law Review, featured on UK Fundraising in August. In England and Wales the Charity Commission’s consultation on the rules governing charity registration closes on 16th October.
