NCVO surveys charity sector

The National Council for Voluntary Organisation has reported that last year UK charities raised £14.2 billion. Total contribution to GDP by the sector is estimated to be £12.8bn, which is less surprising given that one in 50 employed people works for a charity. The sector is a bigger employer than agriculture, the clothing industry or even the City of London.
