Tate and MoMA in e-business tie-in

Today the two museums have joined in an e-business venture which has been described as the “first commercial venture of its kind.” Investment in the venture is reported to be in the region of several million pounds.

The new company, which could even be floated, will be named within the next few weeks. It will offer and sell design and educational products, including posters, furniture and household goods, but will not sell original works of art. The site is due to go live in December 200, and is likely to include content and other services from arts-related organisations .
